Answer the following questions. Think outside the box. Consider all your options.
Do you use stamps at least 1 out of every 3 times you scrap? YES NO
If YES, you need to plan for good accessibility to your stamps and inks. If NO, bump these down on your list of accessible priorities. To get directions on completing a Stamp Catalog click here.
Is it possible to move the desk, table or workspace into a different more efficient position or angle?
Do you work standing up, sitting down, on a chair or a stool?
Would it be beneficial to put the chair or stool in a different place?
Is there a place to put storage up or down, below or above the work space?
How much tabletop space do you need to actually create layouts?
If you scrap alone, you may not need as much as if you have friends/family over to scrap.
Do you need to be able to break down your workspace when you need the extra space?
Sharing your space with other Scrappers
If you reposition your workspace could it be easier to add space with accessibility for shared things when you have guests over to scrap?
Would a Lazy Susan style turn table be a beneficial so tools could be reached easily from more than one chair position?
Light
What time of day are you most likely to be scrapping. If it is in the evening, natural light won’t have nearly as much impact as if you scrap during the day. You also want to keep in mind the effects of light on your products. Having supplies right in front of the window can cause fading.
Are there windows in your space?
What happens to the light throughout the day?
Ambience
Do you listen to music or watch TV while you scrap?
Do you need a space for visitors (non-scrappers like your husband), or room for your children to play or be supervised?
Are they special pictures, things, or colors that you'd like to have in your space?
List anything else that is important to you as a scrapper.
